Just because we are way out West, does not mean that we can just throw out all the conventions of civilization willy-nilly. In that spirit, I ventured forth today, Memorial Day, to purchase a STRAW PURSE.
I've found that both westerners and foreigners (Stinky!) are not aware of this rule, my favorite contrivance of Eastern Society. Ignorance of decent society, however, is no excuse. One must have a straw purse from Memorial Day 'till Labor Day. Not one day less, nor one day more is acceptable (you people who had straw purses in line at The Griddle yesterday, LISTEN UP).
This also coincides with the time period in which it is acceptable to wear white, if you are the sort who does that kind of thing.
SO! Out with the old..
and in with the new!
See you Labor Day!
